Lydia with the Rev. Brian Stock

By God's grace, two plus years of perseverance, I passed my ordination exams and now, I'm officially a teaching elder!

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Who's going to be a BIG SISTER!?!

The word is getting around so we finally decided the great news should go public. Mandy is 10 plus weeks, the baby has a healthy heartbeat and is due August 15th. Lydia is all smiles in her big sister t-shirt and tu-tu.

If you are wondering about names, right now, we have named the baby, "chicken-noodle". Mandy's original name was "snickerdoodle", but when Lydia tried to say it, it came out sounding like "chicken-noodle". Since Lydia's belly name was Chick'n-mini, we thought it was just the right fit.

Christmas with the Stocks!

Our Christmas vacation was spent with Brian's family! This year, "Grandpa and Grandma" decided to give us all a great present of a cabin in North Carolina and a day skiing! The warm weather prevented us from skiing on Saturday but that didn't stop the fun. The guys played golf while the girls shopped. That evening, my sister all took us out to a fancy restaurant (for Maggie Valley). The food was fabulous! Throughout the weekend, we played many different games: monopoly (by the rules), phase10, and other games. Sunday we celebrated Christmas with present in the morning (that's our family tradition), and then went to a little PCA church to hear the good news of Christ coming to save sinners like us. On Monday, we did get to ski. It worked out great as the holiday crowds had left and they opened up two more slopes. The skiing was great.  Pictures are below:

We are here with Grandma!

Making gingerbread men with Grandma. "Run, run! As fast as you can. You can't catch me, I'll the Gingerbread man!"

The whole family is getting involved. Up first, Uncle David.

Then, daddy!

Mommy makes a cute gingerbread girl!

The final product: Daddy's with running shoes, Mommy's with a modest dress, and Uncle David's with facial hair and an attitude.

Getting ready for our annual Stock Christmas carols!

A Family Tradition: To read "Twas the night before Christmas". Grandma is acting right here... she doesn't really need the book!

Another Family Tradition: Candy Cane bread for Christmas morning! (It was delicious!)

Christmas morning!

"Wheels on the bus!"

I Feel Like Someone is Sitting on My Head. And They Might Be.

How is having a head cold like sleeping next to a child? I'm not overly prone to sickness nor do I often co-sleep with my three beaut...
